Hello Reader,
Autumn started late, at the beginning of November and lasted three weeks. October experienced too-warm temperatures, with the trees retaining their green foliage. Then, in November, they began to change their colours. Unfortunately, the colourfulness didn't last long. And the rain added to the list of disappointments. Of those three weeks, it rained for two. I had a window of about one week to take pictures. The yield is meagre.
The usual fog in autumn failed to appear. Photographing trees with mist is simpler and always welcome. No fog this time. With colours showing up late, much rain and no fog. Autumn eluded expectations, presenting an unforeseen challenge. The short span of vibrant shades concerned me. I would have liked the colours to last longer, of course. And the rain didn't help either, as it worsened the situation. I don't plan on jeopardising the camera during heavy rain.
Autumn displayed itself best in the early days of November. The vibrant green leaves of trees surrendered to a cascade of gold. Whilst a storm gathered, presenting a unique photographic opportunity. Undeterred by the weather, I seized the chance and ventured outdoors. Harnessing the power of the strong winds, I took longer exposure times. It allows the trees to dance and blur in the relentless gusts. The blurry trees resemble bold, smeared brushstrokes on an artist's canvas. This break from the typical autumn style provides a new perspective. It offers a visual narrative transcending the usual portrayal of this season.
Stay creative,
Ars
